So Near Yet So Far |

Today saw a superb performance from Tim at the 2008 British Masters with a final finishing position of 5th - but that didn't really tell the full story.
Tim opened up with a superb ride to go well in front of Andrew Appleton at the head of the fields only then to unfortunately slide off existing the steeply banked pits bend at Rhodes Minnis - he remounted but could on get a solitary point.
This however, was followed by two superb wins and a second in the heats to set up a semi final place. He duly finished second in the semi to Glen Phillips chasing him all the way.
Tim knew that a podium finish was beyond him in the final due to the first ride mishap but that 4th place required him to finish in front of Mitch Godden. A nasty fall exiting the second bend put pay to that however with Tim finishing a superb fifth in only his second Masters - he also does not need to go through the qualification next year.
Without the first heat fall, Tim would have entered the semis as a joint leader - better luck next year.
Next up is the Lincolnshire Poacher on a track that Tim loves - here we go!!!!

Oh So Close at The Show |
27/08/07 |
|
Tim had a gutting day at the Peterchurch Show grasstrack today.
He had looked unbeatable in the heats, reeling off three straight wins - with plenty to spare.Indeed he was well in front of John Jeffries and Dave Durham in the final when disaster struck - a puff of smoke, a blown engine - and the win snatched from him on the last lap.
Understandably disappointed Tim now needs to put this behind him in preparation for the biggest meeting of the year so far - The British Masters on the the 9th of September..

Poacher Punctures |
26/08/07 |
|
Tim had a solid day at the International Poacher in Skegness today - just missing out on the Last Chance final by a single point.
This was all the more frustrating as he failed to finish his second ride - gearbox problems causing him to pull up.
A solid afternoon of work though with Tim beating the likes of Matthis Kroger and Sirg Suchbach throughout the day.

Tim finished second today after a thrilling contest in the re-arranged Worcester meeting.
The final race against among others Lewis Denham, Phil Ashcroft, Jason Handley and Jamie Rodgers was superb, with Tim just missing out on victory after a great scrap with Denham and Ashcroft.

Ow So Fast |
27/08/06 |
|
Tim had an eventful trip to Lincolnshire for the Poacher today with a first race fastest time of the day followed with a fall and suspected broken ankle.
Tim was going so fast that World Longtrack star Robert Barth commented on how good he looked. But disaster struck on the first bend of Tim's second race. As he entered the bend he lost control and fell, unfortunately to have his ankle run over by a following rider.
The ankle was diagnosed as broken by the on track doctor but a trip to the local hospital showed it just to be bruised.
Tim was very miffed but glad to be up and about. He hopes to ride in this weekends Rod Melksham event near Chippenham.

Happy With the Bank Hol |
01/05/06 |
|
Tim finished a very creditable 6th in today's Berks Bonanza - but could have done even better.
On the first lap he was one of the riders who had to take avoiding action as Jason Handley fell - the race SHOULD have been restarted in many peoples opinion - but NOT that of the Clerk of the Course.
However, Tim was still happy - "I'm chuffed to bits" he said after the meeting. "To beat the likes of Jamie Rodgers in the heats and to get into the final was superb - and I managed to stay on two wheels all day!!"

Oh So Close |

Tim had a superb day's racing, marred only by one mistake in the final, at the Ledbury Spring Classic today.
He had ridden consistently all day to be one of the 4 automatic qualifiers to the final and was chasing third place when he hit a rut on the pits bend and came to a halt.
However, the best performance of the season so far, some excellent gating, fast cornering and clever thinking (cruising home in second in the last heat knowing he had already qualified for the final) auger well for the Berks Bonanza which is next up on Bank Holiday Monday.

Painful Start to 2006 |
16/04/06 |
|
Tim has not had the best of starts to his 2006 season with crashes at each of his first three meetings.
Today saw the most painful of all at the Salisbury Sizzler where after two solid third places in his opening rides, Tim seemed to lock up mid bend in his third ride. This lauched him hand first into the bike and he finally stopped with his hand wedged painfully in the rear wheel.
Frantic efforts to remove the wheel finally paid off and Tim, who had been excellently dealt with by the onhand paramedics, managed to walk to the Ambulance.
The coming weekend sees Tim at the Ledbury Spring Classic where he will face a strong field including Andrew Appleton, Jamie Rodgers, Lewis Denham and Bradley Kite.
Full report next Monday.
